About Sorry Chicken

Well hello there – and welcome to Sorry Chicken!

Philosophy Of This Blog

It’s a blog about chickens. It mainly targets beginners and families who want their own flock.

The goal is to learn how to raise chickens, in the most natural way possible. I hope this site adds a little value – and some entertainment – to your experiences with your chickens. 🙂

There are no ads on this website, but sometimes there are some “affiliates links”. That means that if you click on a link that points to a commercial product, I will earn a commission. This will help the blog to grow. However, I only recommend material I heavily trust. You can also see disclaimer on the footer.

About me – David

About Sorry Chicken
That’s me

My name is David and I’m the guy responsible for this crazy website. I’m a web developer, and I’m raising chicken as a hobbyist. I currently have 4 chickens – one Silkie, one Australorp, and two hybrids, eggs-laying hens.

I love them. ❤️ Chickens are curious animals. Ours each had a name and a unique personality. They’d peck at our feet (seemingly without fear), and yet would run from anything else that moved!

The name, Sorry Chicken, is just a playful & fun way to make the site more memorable.

Thanks for checking out our site!

About Sorry Chicken
Charles SJ

Charles created this website in 2018, before to leave the website to David in 2022. Here’s the original story below.

My story began in 2012 when my family bought a dozen chickens. Not knowing a lot about chickens at the time, we thought it’d be interesting – and funny – to buy a bunch of different breeds and bring them up together … as a big family. In hindsight, this wasn’t the best idea, but that’s what we did – we bought a pair of chickens from across 6 breeds for a total of 12 hens.
